Speed and alcohol are more often than not a deadly combination: Especially when that combination ends up being behind the wheel of a car. An accident that happened in Maricopa County at Baseline and Dean Roads at approximately 3:00 a.m. in Buckeye on Saturday morning cost the life of a 22 year old driver.

The driver, whose name has not been released by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, was ejected from his vehicle. He was transported to West Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to MCSO spokesman, Joaquin Enriquez, investigators believe that both alcohol and speed were factors in the fatal accident.

The fact that there were no other injuries reported in this accident does not make it any less tragic. The family of this young person will now have to cope with the aftermath of an accident and the loss of a loved one. No one should ever have to face such a tragedy alone.
