Our client sustained serious injuries, including a knee surgery. The dog owner’s insurance company denied liability because it claimed that there was an exclusion for “vicious dogs.” After carefully examining the policy, I noted that there was in fact no coverage for certain dogs, including “Rottweilers” or “Pit Bulls” or “Pit Bull mixes.” The defendant’s dog was a Rottweilers but not a purebred. As the insurance policy specifically excluded both “Pit Bulls” and “Pit Bull mixes” on the one hand, but only “Rottweilers” on the other, I argued that there would have to be coverage for a Rottweilers mix. The insurance company eventually agreed and paid our client $180,000.00.

A fun and interesting fact about Jay is that he speaks and writes French fluently, and competes in mountain biking and marathons.
