A collision involving a fire vehicle and an SUV has left one person injured.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, the accident happened just after 2:00 p.m. near 46th Street and Camelback Road. Investigators with the Phoenix Police department say initial investigation indicates that the driver of the SUV made an improper U-turn into the path of the oncoming fire vehicle.
The EMS captain who had been driving the fire vehicle was unhurt in the accident. The driver of the SUV was taken to an area hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The accident is still currently under investigation.
It could take a while before the investigation is finalized and then it will be up to the insurance companies who pays for any damages or medical expenses arising from this accident. If someone is hurt in an accident, the medical bills, time off the job and other expenses can add up quickly and take its toll.
