A major gas explosion in New York could threaten the start of school for thousands of students. Private contractors were hired by the city to upgrade science labs at John F. Kennedy High School in the Bronx. Three workers were seriously injured and there was massive damage to the building. A witness said they felt their building shake from the force of the blast.
The Department of Buildings is investigating the damage to see if any part of the building can be used safely before school starts on the 9th. If the building gets condemned then a lot of students are going to have to go elsewhere for school until the damage is repaired.
