Cyclist Killed in Crash, Child Injured

A motorcyclist has been killed and his 4-year-old son was injured after their motorcycle collided with a large dump truck in Phoenix on Saturday morning.

According to Phoenix Fire Captain Reda Bigler, the fatal crash happened at 42nd Place and Baseline at approximately 9:30 a.m. The motorcyclist had not been wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The man has been identified as Vincent Reid. Capt. Bigler said that the child that was also involved in the crash had been wearing a helmet and suffered only minor injuries but was taken to an area trauma center as a precautionary measure.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Jonathan Howard said the motorcycle was struck by the dump truck and that the accident is still currently under investigation.
