For the third time, a car has crashed into the wall of a home located near 39th Avenue and Bell Road in Phoenix. This time, however, the vehicle came through the wall and struck an above ground pool in the backyard.

According to Phoenix Police, a dark colored car that was heading southbound on 39th Avenue ran a red light and collided with a Prius, causing the dark car to crash through the wall and into the yard. The car struck an above ground pool and destroyed it.

The force of the collision also sent the Prius crashing into the wall as well.

Emergency crews had to extract the driver of the dark car who was pinned under the dashboard of the vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital to be treated for fractures sustained in the accident.

The driver of the Prius was also taken to an area hospital with only minor injuries.

No one at the home was hurt in the incident.

The homeowner said that the wall was still damaged from a previous accident that happened on Labor Day and that such incidents were happening all too frequently. He plans to go to the city and attempt to get extra signage to help drivers avoid crashing into the wall around his property.

Thankfully the homeowners were not hurt in this accident, but the motorists were not so lucky. No doubt after the accident there will be costs associated with medical treatment and other expenses. In such accidents, insurance companies will raise the rates of those involved in an accident, even if they aren’t at fault.
